Hiking - Walking: Levington Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny and warm Max Speed: Distance Covered: 2.50 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Sunday 11th May - walk *** – Levington – walk and picnic – sunny
and warm!
Went to bed with a dodgy shoulder but it was slightly improved in the
morning, there was a bit of breeze forecast but it was light first thing so
I managed my exercises in the sunny back garden. I decided to forget about
foiling for to day to rest my shoulder so packed yummy tuna sandwiches and
we dove over to Levington Marina to enjoy them by the River Orwell watching
the yachts sail up and down! We were entertained by someone who had fitted
a small electric motor to his kite foil board for some reason, couldn’t
see the point as it was too close to the board so if you got foiling the
motor would come out of the water, the board was probably way too small and
the motor did not look powerful enough so that looked like a waste of
time??? After lunch we set off for a walk along the Orwell to Levington
creek, not much sign of bird life and no deer either! We then returned
along the country lane and back down to the marina across the field and
home for a cuppa, hot cross bun and a doze:) I checked the wind and the
wind had picked up enough for a foil in the afternoon as the tide dropped
but I am glad I rested my shoulder. We might have to get up early tomorrow
for a hot air balloon ride in Stowmarket with Neil H, fingers crossed we
get up this time as it has been cancelled a few times!
